Montana Woodworks® is an environmentally responsible company located in the Purcell Mountains of Northwest Montana. Founded in 1991, the company grew quickly, becoming known nationwide for its skip peeled rustic log furniture.
The Montana Collection is the original collection first offered in 1991. It features skip peeled logs and accents and each piece is hand crafted with an attentive eye resulting in one-of-a-kind, heirloom quality items that will last generations. Available Unfinished, Lacquered or Stained and Lacquered. All items are created by hand and are signed by the artisan who made it.
The Glacier Country Collection features a unique finish that is reminiscent of the “Grand Lodges of The Rockies” circa 1900. The outer bark of the wood is removed by hand using old-fashioned draw knives while leaving the inner cambium layer for increased texture and contrast. After the pieces are assembled they are completed in an eight step process that applies stain and lacquer for a durable, low maintenance finish. All items are created by hand and are signed by the artisan who made it.
The Homestead Collection features a “Timber Frame” or a “Barnwood” style suggestive of the furniture found on the American western frontier. Timbers and trim pieces are square sawn creating rustic furniture without the log look. Available Unfinished, Lacquered or Stained and Lacquered. All items are created by hand and are signed by the artisan who made it.
Montana Woodworks can make custom pieces, can use your preferred stain and can even use your own fabric.
